Hi! My name is Toni and I always wanted to be a writer. While studying film and Screenwriting at Sheffield Hallam University, I fell in love with writing about cinema and branched out into writing film reviews and essays for various publications after starting on Blogger. I have over seven years of writing experience and love horror, 2000s films, and the 70s. My favourite film is Almost Famous and my favourite television shows are Charmed and Gilmore Girls. I have written on Medium and was a staff writer for Screen Queens, covering both film and television, with a focus on horror and female-led media, until the website closed in April 2024. In July 2024, I decided to create my own platform and launched Cineberry.
My other bylines include Film Daze, WhatCulture, and JumpCut Online, to name a few, and I have covered horror-focused film festivals such as GrimmFest, Fright Fest, Fantasia, and Overlook. I’ve been entrusted with screeners from Netflix, Disney, Prime Video, NEON, BBC America, and more. You can view my full portfolio here. I also appear in the coffee table book “Alternative Film Posters A-Z” by Jeremy Arblaster, providing the blurbs for the films Annihilation and Hereditary, which are accompanied by alternative poster designs by talented graphic designers.
In May 2024, I started a Substack newsletter titled “Wait Until Dark,” after the 1967 film of the same name. The newsletter features book reviews (posted there before Cineberry), a monthly roundup of what I’ve been reading, and occasional essays about various topics. All my posts are currently free. I try to keep up-to-date with month reading posts, but expect some inconsistency from time-to-time for the other stuff. Do subscribe if you’re interested as it really helps. ♡
